Cuties

I don't know why, but I find myself talking to a lot of Indian people on the phone lately. (not Native Americans...) I don't know why, but they all love me. They have been some of the cutest, sweetest people I have ever run across. Also, wow, they call me a lot. I think they love me because I'm patient with them.

Right now, I have two that I'm working with.

One, is a woman. She called me, and her English was pretty broken, but I just relaxed, and I spent a lot of time making sure she understood the process. I told her she could call me anytime, and that I'd answer her questions, so not to worry. What's really sad is that a lot of people with broken English just take a little extra time, and real estate agents don't have it. She had been trying to talk to a listing agent and couldn't get him to answer her questions. When we hung up, she told me "I was scared before, but you take the time to talk to me, and now I have confidence again because you help me!"

*sniff*

My newest pal is J. He calls me everyday, sometimes twice a day, for the past few weeks. Today? J. made what could have been his first joke, because he is so serious.

J: Hello, Cookie, it is J.

C: Hi J! How are you today?

J: I am good. Did you hear from the sell-ar?

C: I did. *explains in detail the situation where I sort of got an answer but didn't and I need some more time.*

J: Wow.

C: I know!

J: I was getting frustrated today. And I thought "I will have a Cookie."

C: *pause*

J: Get it? Because I was angry, and you make me feel better, so I said I will have a Cookie!

C: *laughs* Yeah.. I get it. Thanks, J.

J: It was funny?

C: Very, yes.
