Weekendcakes

I got a lot of feed-back on my prescription blog. All of it was helpful, and sweet, and loving. I appreciate it, too, especially since it was very rant-y. Also note: I did get my first blogger comment from MichaelB, who is one of my heroes.. and now he knows what a potty mouth I am. I didn't crawl *all* the way under my desk.. but it was close.

In other news, I took a two-day vacation from work! It was my first vacation since I've started so I was all weird and stressy about it. Luckily, when I left work Wednesday I went straight to knitting class with Jaimie & Liz. At first I thought I had some sort of blockage to the part of my brain that allows you to knit (you know, like on Operation? like there is a little slot for a ball of yarn, only my game was missing that piece?) However! After a while, I kind of got it, and pretty soon the hour was over, and I realized that I felt so much more relaxed. The woman who teaches the class was very encouraging, too. I can't wait to go again. I wish it was longer than an hour.

Thursday I went to pick up my friend Kellie from the airport. Kell & I have a very Romy & Michele type friendship. It doesn't matter what we do together, it's always the coolest thing anyone has ever done. We are rock stars in our own minds, and even though much has happened in our time as friends.. we stick together. I stood there waiting for her at the airport and when I spotted her all I could do was smile and clap. She was walking like she had nowhere special to be, swinging her bag in this "I am so very casual." way. I could tell the moment she spotted me, because all her coolness fell away and she did this little hop-skip and squealed. It was one of those perfect moments, when someone's entire personality seems summed up in only a few gestures.

Plus? We totally ARE rock stars, because we trashed her hotel room. But more on that later.

Angie's baby shower is tomorrow, and I went to WalMart today to pick up some things. I set off the alarm when I left, and was treated like a common thief by the elderly woman manning the doors. First of all, do I look like a common thief? If I was gonna be a thief, I'd totally be all Pierce Brosnon-y about it. I'd like, tunnel through the floor of the baby department at WalMart and lift diaper bags and bottle brushes from the shelves really stealthy-like.

And secondly? I could have taken that lady down. They should really have someone more threatening. Although, I totally got scolded and it made me feel very ashamed.

I hate WalMart.

My poor, loving sister is sick with the same thing I have. I'm going to her house tonight to hang out, and SHE is making ME chicken & dumplings. I know! I get her sick and she cooks for me! I'm either really lucky or she's going to poison me. Her chicken & dumplings would be the way to go, though.

~I get dumplings and you guys don't~
