Eggshell in the Batter
I went back on Goodreads to switch my "currently-reading" Bridget Jones Diary (awwww.. Mark Darcy!!) to the "read" and to move Morrigan's Cross (yet ANOTHER Nora Roberts book that I am SURE will change my life and make me a better person) from my "to-read" to my "currently reading" shelf.
Did I mention I love Goodreads.com? Did I? I'm not sure if I did.
I saw that Laura recently added "Flowers in the Attic" to her list of books, which made me exclaim and cringe at the same time. I think I found these books when I was just a wee teen. I read almost the entire "Flowers in the Attic" series, and all of the "Heaven" and "Dawn" series. I'm pretty sure I thought they were AWESOME at the time, too.
Gotta love V.C. Andrews, though. And Judy Blume. And Jackie Collins. For teaching me what I REALLY needed to know about sex, namely not to ever sleep with my brother.
I love how the V.C. Andrews books are all themed. Flowers, Dawn, Heaven, they all have titles that you instantly know where they go. Like this:
Dawn
Secrets of the Morning
Twilight's Child
Darkest Hour
I want to start a new one.
Cookies in the Oven
Pie on the Windowsill
Cake in the Breakroom
Ice Cream in the Freezer
Then I'll go back after I've finished and write a NEW book about what happened BEFORE Cookies in the Oven.
But what should I name it?
~

1 Comments:
I read the Flowers in the Attic series when I was a kid.
As a parent, I now want to ask my parents, "what the hell were you thinking, letting me read books like that?!"
