I was surfing around on Amazon one day for cute barrettes, and I ran across this:

So, I immediately made that picture my avatar on MSN messenger, and changed my display name to "Hairnet Sally".

I did not realize at the time that Hairnet Sally would become a character in my head, but I've found myself sending IM's saying things like "Hairnet Sally would not approve." (and she wouldn't. she does NOT put up with any bullshit)

Leslie and Terica, the two people I talk to most on MSN, have also grown quite fond of Hairnet Sally.

Do you see how this works? Are you already imagining how awesome it will be the next time you have a chance to say "Hairnet Sally thinks this is all wrong" or "Hairnet Sally looooves that color on you."

She does, you know. Hairnet Sally is a big believer in Color Me Beautiful (she's a Spring) and she thinks that color just does wonders for you.
