Y'all, I went buckwild for a whole two weeks, and I am DONE. Stick a fork in me. I mean, buckwild for me may look more like buckwheat to you guys.... but I do's what I can's.

I really, really feel like being a huge nerd for a little while. I'm gonna jump right in.

I don't know why you guys won't watch LOST. Why aren't you watching LOST???? DOOOD. Have I steered you wrong?? Is there a movie I showed you that sucked? A book I recommended that you hated? Okay, so I know Entourage wasn't a big hit with Kris & Laura, but the thing is... they're totally WRONG about that show. They just don't know it yet. I have faith, though.

Leslie. Tell them they're wrong. She knows!

So anyway, LOST. Come ON! Not even the guys? Not even Jimmy? Or Nathan? I thought I could count on you guys for something. Don't give me that "Oh I watched it and I didn't like it, there are polar bears in the jungle, blah blah blah."

Here's where I show you how wrong you are. (you're gonna love this..)

Look at that sweet face! Awwwwwwwwww~ a boo boo boo boo~

He's worth watching the show for, I promise. I promise, I promise, I promise. And in a society where skinny rules, how fucking cool are the writers of LOST to address these kinda issues? It's like groundbreaking, almost. People hate on fat people way more than gay people nowadays. Fat is the new Gay, I'm telling you. You heard it here first.

Okay so anyway! I helped (hi Baph!) talk Kellie into watching LOST, and she totally loved it. We're getting our nerd on big time (biiig tiiime) on MySpace because we started Sawyer's Book Club. See, the writers have all these literary references on the show. One of the characters, Sawyer, reads a lot and there are also a TON of other books seen/mentioned. So, we decided to read the books that Sawyer has been shown reading on the show, and in order, cause we're cool like that. We have over 550 friends, and we're only on our 3rd book. Right now we're reading "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret." HA! (Admit it, you're a little jealous, aren't you?)

Kellie just emailed me to let me know that she thought reading The Watchmen might be fun because the writers have mentioned that they were heavily influenced by it. THEN, she linked me to the movie trailer, cause she's totally cool and awesome.

Oh yeah! That movie trailer just happened all up in yo' face!

I won't pretend I knew about The Watchmen before Kellie emailed me about it, but to me, that's the cool thing about LOST. It's introducing me to so much more than just an hour of television a week. The fans.. the fans are incredible! And the writers, well, they're just so cool I could pee my pants. They're giving you hints all along so you can try to figure out what's going on, and it's not only giving me a reason to read books I'd never try on my own (The Fountainhead), it's making me use my brain.

I haven't really used my brain since I started using the Internet. Thinking? Remembering? Why, that's what Google is for... And who can think anyway with all this information flying at you? All you can do is try to absorb as much as you can so you don't feel like a total retard in front of the hipsters.

And to play my last and final card.. and this one is mainly for Kelly Fish. I wasn't gonna tell her so I'd have one up on her? But..

Seth Rogen watches LOST.

EAT THAT, HATERS!

************************

So's you guys don't think I've left my one true love? I just ordered this when I ordered by copy of The Watchmen.

That is so nerdy that almost makes me feel sexier.

Ok, for all you doubters: It took me a *long* time to become convinced that LOST was a show worth trying. The premise sounded stupid. People stuck on an island trying to get off... was it a three hour tour, a three hour tour? I wasn't impressed.

Cookie and another friend wore me down like driblets of water snaking through the dirt and creating what's now known as the Grand Canyon. They were THAT persistent. So you might as well give in now, it's inevitable.

What finally convinced me was all the episodes hosted on http://www.abc.com . I mean, I'm too lazy to try to remember to catch up with this show every Tuesday or Thursday. But I can go to abc.com and clicky this, clicky that~ before you know it you've watched the first five episodes of season one and think to yourself, "Huh... well that was pretty damn good! And how *bout* that polar bear?!" Which, by then, will make TOTAL sense to you.

The people who think all the oddities are... ODD... are people who don't watch the show. Once you watch you will become consumed with conspiracy theories, talk of time/space continuums, and the plight of good vs. evil.

So, I'll say the same thing that they said to me--- just give it a try!!! Season 1, episode 1, watch from the beginning & THEN decide if you don't like the show or not.

PS: The Watchmen, both the graphic novel and the movie, looks kick ASSABLE.

Dude, I totally have a copy of The Watchmen that Gage let me borrow... I haven't read it yet, but you could have sub_borrowed it from me while you read it.

That movie looks freakin awesome.

Catoes: You are WRONG about Entourage, I could just make a nest up in that cute kids fantastically guido-esque oily bo-hunk head of hair. What is wrong with you two???

Oh, and Scottie and John both watch Lost and love it. Just ask them.

Two things:

1. I just finished reading The Watchmen mere days ago, so, weird. I'm not going to say anything at all about it, except that my feelings toward it are mostly positive.

2. We've had this conversation before, but lest you think me a bad friend, let me say again: I would truly love to watch Lost for you. I know you've done the same for me re: Stattlebar. I believe you when you say it's so good that it'll suck me in, and that's what scares me. The scars that Twin Peaks left me with will NEVER HEAL, so yeah, I'm a little bit afraid of commitment right now. Can't I just wait until I know it's safe to care?

No, no you can't wait! GAH, LIZ! This is not about YOU and your EMOTIONAL WELL BEING. It's about ME!

Really? Scars? So should I watch Twin Peaks or no? Cause I still wanna watch it.
