Nielsen.. Party of One..

Last week Misty and I were sitting on my couch during our lunch hour when the phone rang. When I answered, it was a lovely woman with Nielsen and she asked me if I would like to be a part of the Nielsen Family Rating System. Sometime before the 24th of this month, I'm going to receive a little booklet for each tv I have so I can write down what I watch. She said that anyone in the household can participate, relatives, friends, guests, etc.

Good. Cause.. I watch the worst crap on television. I mean, my book is gonna be filled with stuff like HGTV and Breaking Bonaduce. I *need* to be watching shows like, say.. Veronica Mars. And, once I finish the last two dvds of Freaks & Geeks (due to me tomorrow) the next on my list is the first dvd of Ms. Mars. I figure, if Joss is gonna guest star, it means he approves. And what am I, but a Joss-Follower?

I need a show. I *miss* having a show. All the shows I'm into have been cancelled already. I tried to give Veronica a shot in the first episode, but they were saying "The New Buffy!" and when it wasn't what I expected I just gave it up. I miss having a show that is so good it drives me to the internet and forces me to post things on message boards and make friends with other poeple from around the globe that think the way I do. (he got his SOUL for her, people! his SOUL!)

I'm hoping this will help break me of my reality-tv-crack habit. If I'm forced to confront my lameness when I write down that I watched House Hunters for the 40th time that week, or that I never miss an episode of Breaking Bonaduce.. perhaps I will be shamed enough to watch some good tv. (Also, I'm kinda curious just how many times a week I watch That 70's Show. It's always on! Always!)

So, when I get my little booklets, if you guys want to come over and pimp your favorite shows for Nielsen, be my guest.
