Book Blog

I just finished reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. Fun characters, interesting premise, twisty plot, and it delivers The Scary. In fact, it scared me so bad one night that I had to put the book down and cover it with a pillow. You know, in case the bad got out.
(note for Kellie: It was that part where he calls & checks his voicemail, and he has one from the dead dude. Holy SHIT, did that scare you, too? I got the creepie crawlies all over.)
I've got a book of short stories by him as well, but I'm putting off reading them because I don't want to run out of things to read by Joe Hill. I think I love him.
I'm always sad when I finish a book I really loved. It's like having to say goodbye to good friends. You can read it again, but it won't be the same as meeting them the first time.
sigh....
Next up is The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen.

The voicemail *was* really weird! I think whole concept of a ghost following you in a pickup truck is creepy.
It was a good ghost story, I liked it! I'm glad I didn't know that was Stephen King's son until after I'd read it, that way I had no expectations going into it.
I've read 3...4 maybe? Of the short stories and so far I've liked all but the one I stopped with...... at 9 o' clock this morning when I FINALLY got to the point of sleepy.
FUCK this week has been hell - but enough about me.
I'm really enjoying them. 'Pop Art' was a lot more touching than I thought it would be, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I DO NOT WANT 'You will hear the locust sing' ... EWWWWW, its going to fucking KILL YOU I say, you will be so very grossed out.
