There Will Be Popcorn

This weekend I went to see “There Will Be Blood”. It’s so boring that I can tell you with certainty that there are 3 (2 black, 1 white) missing ceiling tiles in the theatre I watched it in. There are 3 large fluorescent lights, 8 dimmer lights, 4 wall lights, 6 speakers, and 6 air vents. It was such a horrible movie that 5 people walked out. One of those 5 people was me. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and had to go to the bookstore to buy something to read in the lobby while I waited for my dad and sister.

(I got Long Way Home, the first of the Buffy Season 8 trade paperbacks. Oh.. I missed my Buffy friends.)

But there was one thing that made me glad I went to see “There Will Be Boredom”, and that was this trailer:

It was like the Universe (played by Christopher Walken) called me up and said “Cookie, what kind of movie would you like to see?” and I was all “You know, Universe, I’d like to see a bunch of oldsters singing The Ramones and Sonic Youth.” And the Universe answered and said unto me: “Alrighty then.”

Oh, Universe. You wily, beautiful bastard.

I'm glad you told me about There Will Be Blood, because I almost went to see it. And I don't have extra money to throw around on crap!

Ok, I don't know if you were being serious or not but I thought the old people were awesome. It almost made me cry LOL (I say LOL so I look like I'm joking, and not like I'm a sap). When I get old I'm totally singing The Clash, to hell with what all the whippersnappers think.

If that were my Grandmother I'd be in the front row cheering her on. (I'd stage dive, but that might not work so well with an older crowd)

I assure you that I was not joking about the old people being cool. I know it's hard to tell.

I actually started clapping twice in the theatre during the trailer because it made me so happy. I got all teary-eyed, too.

I can't WAIT to see that. It looks so cool.

Yaay!! Aww, I wish I could see that with you. We should think about starting a little old lady band someday, too. We'll have all the old men trying to get in our Depends.
