Fact: Cheap Wine & Blogging Do Not Mix
I went to see Resident Evil: Extinction with dad & Suzie today. I screamed only once, which seemed to amuse my father a whole lot. The movie was pretty good, considering it was about zombies. Folks, just once.. I'd love to see a zombie movie starring Jack Nicholson. Or maybe the whole cast of The Departed. Which is a good name for a zombie movie, if you think about it.
We could call it The Un-Departed: No, Seriously. Or maybe The Departed: Ish. We'll work on that. I just don't know why serious actors are never in horror movies. Johnny Depp was in a horror movie. That and 21 Jump Street launched his career. But does Johnny Deep, (I mean, Depp) ever go back and re-visit his horror roots? And don't you Sweeney Todd me. In fact, don't Tim Burton me at all, because that is just not scary. It's spooky. ~Not the same!~
Also, are we going to see Johnny Depp guest-starring on NYPD Blue? I don't think so. And is that show still on? I mean, if it's cancelled then I might as well have just said "Hill Street Blues" because that's just how far back that I actually wached a cop show, and then ONLY cause my dad made me.
Speaking of my dad, we saw a horror movie today, and that brings me back to my point. See how I did that? It's that easy.
Alls I'm saying is that I'd really love to see Marky Mark as a zombie-killing badass, and I don't feel that this is ever going to happen. I'll take my B movie stars, anyway. They're more real, more personable. I believe that they'd live down the street, and work in my office. I can walk with them on dark streets because they're my friends. When they hear a noise, I can be all "Did you hear that, Oded Fehr?" and he'll be like "My name is Carlos Olivera in this movie, and yes, I did hear it."
If Jack Nicholson & Marky Mark squared off against each other in a zombie movie (awesome!) then I don't know if it would be the same. But I'd totally take Christopher Walken & Brenden Fraser. (Dude, I'm so brilliant. We should make a whole movie about how AWESOME it would be if Brenden Fresar and Christopher Walken could SOME DAY POSSIBLY BE in a movie together.)
Oh, and Resident Evil: Extinction was fun and badass-y.
