She Believes I Can Fly, She Believes I Can Touch the Sky

My friend Kellie is the awesome.

Since I am single, sometimes I feel like I am destined to die alone with cats. And I'm allergic to cats. At this point in my life, I do not want a boyfriend. It seems like too much work to me. I mean, I'm busy. I have friends to see, and scarves to knit, and I have time for sex but not cuddling.

The good thing is that my friends believe FOR me. And no one believes for me more than Kellie. She will take the most random encounter with a man and make it into a huge deal. It's just like high school all over again, and it really fun. It makes me relax about the whole thing, and laugh at myself. It also it gives us something to do. The best part is, that it reminds me that there are people in the world who believe that I am totally awesome, and that there is no possible way that every guy I meet isn't at least halfway in love with me.

(Like, one night we were talking about Vin Diesel, and my quandary over where we would live. A bird and a fish can fall in love, but where will they make their home??? We decided that Vin would move to Gadsden, and then Gadsden would become the new, hip place to live. Like Wyoming, only .. Gadsden. I said "They'll call it the New Hollywood" And Kellie? Kellie said "More like they'll call Hollywood "The Old Gadsden". How can you not love a person like that?)

When I told Kellie that Seth Green answered my question on his webpage, and that surely that meant that we were getting married? She sent me my first wedding gift. The last name on the package had my last name, only "-Green" was added to it. And it was an official Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Oz" doll.

Last night, I got home from a long day, and I had a package at my doorstep. It was from Kellie, for my birthday. What was it, you ask? Why, it was a die cast metal mini-version of the Battlestar Pegasus! And it has a display stand! Oh yeah!

It is currently (and proudly) displayed on my desk at work. I love it. Every time I look at it, I smile. (I also pretended to shoot Dana with it today, so that's also a plus.)

I just wanted to publicly tell Kellie that she is awesome, and I love her, and her sense of humor. She makes me feel like I'm way cooler than I could actually ever be, and I appreciate that. I mean, what else can you ask for in a friend, except someone that sees the "you" that you want to be, instead of the weirdo that you really are?

Did I mention it has a display stand? Woot!
